Terms of Service

Trail Hub is a mobile app for finding and coordinating group mountain bike rides. These Terms are an agreement between you and Trail Hub. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

The short version

Here's the plain-English summary. The numbered sections that follow are the binding terms; if anything conflicts, the numbered sections control.

You're responsible for you.

Riding is inherently risky. You're responsible for your own gear, fitness, decisions on trail, and how you treat other riders — on the app, on rides arranged through it, and anywhere else. Trail Hub is a tool for finding rides; it isn't a guide service, an event organizer, or an insurer. Hosts aren't your guides; other users aren't vetted by us.

What we'll do.

We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, as required by app store rules, and we remove content or accounts that violate the law or those rules. Beyond that, any action we take — or don't take — is at our sole discretion. We don't promise to investigate, respond, or treat cases consistently.

What we won't do.

We don't moderate behavior in real time, mediate disputes between riders, verify identities, or vouch for anyone on the app. We're not liable for what other users do on the app or off it.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Trail Hub. By creating an account you confirm you are 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement.

2. Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Use your real name (or the one your riding friends know you by). One account per person. Don't impersonate anyone.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines and applicable law. You will not use Trail Hub to harass, threaten, or harm others; post content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringes someone else's rights; impersonate anyone; spam, sell, or scrape; promote rides on closed or unauthorized trails; or interfere with the app's operation or security.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post — your profile, rides, comments, and photos. By posting it, you grant Trail Hub a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and improving the app. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where copies are retained for backup, legal, or safety reasons.

You're responsible for your content. Don't post anything you don't have the right to post.

5. Rides are organized by users, not by Trail Hub

Trail Hub is a tool that helps riders find and coordinate rides. We do not organize, lead, supervise, sponsor, sanction, insure, or vet rides or riders. Ride hosts are riders posting a meet-up — they are not guides, instructors, or employees of Trail Hub. Other users are not screened, background-checked, or verified by us.

6. Assumption of risk

Mountain biking, road biking, gravel riding, and similar activities are inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury, permanent disability, or death — to you, to others, and to your or others' property. You acknowledge these risks and accept full responsibility for them when you use Trail Hub to find, join, or host a ride.

You are solely responsible for your gear, helmet, fitness, skill level, decisions on trail, compliance with trail rules and local laws, and your own behavior toward other riders.

7. Enforcement and discretion

We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, as required by app store rules, and we remove content or accounts that violate the law or those rules. Beyond that, any action we take — including warning, removing content, suspending, restricting, or terminating an account — is at our sole discretion. We don't promise to investigate every report, respond to every message, or treat cases consistently.

8. No warranty

Trail Hub is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or uninterrupted operation. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the app or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant any ride, rider, route, trail condition, or information posted by users.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trail Hub and its operators, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app, any ride, any rider, any conduct on or off the app, or any content posted by users — whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the app or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; in those places, the limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted.

10. Release

You release Trail Hub from claims, demands, and damages of every kind and nature arising out of or in any way connected with disputes between users, conduct of other riders, any ride arranged through the app, trail conditions, or anything else that occurred outside the app.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Trail Hub harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the app, your content, your conduct on or off rides, or your violation of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

You can stop using Trail Hub at any time and delete your account by emailing support@trailhubapp.com. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, at our discretion. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content license carve-outs, assumption of risk, no warranty, limitation of liability, release, indemnification, and governing law — survive.

13. Third-party services

Trail Hub uses third-party services, including Supabase, Expo, Apple, and Mapbox, to host, authenticate, store, and distribute the app and its map and location features. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of Trail Hub after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Trail Hub agree that any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the app will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
